By the time you read this, I will be making my way to California to spend the holidays with my daughter and son-in-law, as well as my four grandkids. It’s my semi-annual pilgrimage to the land of noise and bedlam, all punctuated with love and laughter.
For some reason, it seems different this time. I don’t know if it’s my weight-loss, age or what. I mean, I was just there in late June but I feel like the last six months has put me in a different mindset and my cherub-like demeanor is back! It’s going to be a nice visit. Or maybe, it’s what I’m giving them for Christmas that is really getting me in a happy place. This year, I have avoided the silver as a gift (You remember that story I wrote). This year, it’s about memories and not money. Well, there’s money involved, but it’s being used to create memories. I would tell you more but Rylie, my oldest granddaughter, is really good at reading and I know she’ll blab it to the others. So I will tell you later.
More to come, but for now, I hope you and your families have a wonderful celebration this holiday and wish you the best in 2019!
