Scott Wheeler has been a fixture of Peoria radio for over 3 ½ decades beginning at legendary Top 40 station KZ93 in the early 1980’s. He also served as Operations Director and air personality for Big Oldies 93.3 that he helped make one of the top Oldies stations in the country. In 2006, he joined Christian Contemporary WCIC where he served as Operations Director, Morning Show Co-Host, and Afternoon Show Co-Host before leaving the station in August of 2015. After a brief “retirement,” he returned to SuperHits WIRL in July of 2016. Radio Ink Magazine named Scott one of the Top Ten Best Small Market Program Directors in America four-years running from 1999-2003.
“I am thrilled to be a part of SuperHits WIRL. This is the music I grew up on and to get to play it at such a legendary station like WIRL is the thrill of a lifetime. I turn the speakers up and jam to these songs just like everyone else who listens. If I can add a smile to someone’s face along the way, even better! Central Illinois has been my home since I arrived on Bradley University’s doorstep in 1980. I know and love the area and count it a true blessing to serve the community.”
